I have just returned from our FourThought’s annual two-day planning meeting with our leadership team. This is where we get away from the day-to-day business and reflect, dream, and strategize. We selected a theme for the upcoming year. This is important because it frames the direction and priorities for the year. This year’s theme is “We are families.”
This is a riff off of the old Sister Sledge song from the post-disco era. The most important contributor to our well-being is a supportive and loving family (however you define family). So many of you have shared that after achieving personal financial security (the knowledge that you are going to be ok) your concern is making sure your loved ones will be ok as well!
We hear you.
Our theme reflects our commitment to serving you holistically from a multi-generational lens. Over the last two years, I have been working on a book, loosely titled “Slipstream: A Guide to Holistic Multigenerational Planning.” You can expect to see a lot of content on this and related subjects moving forward. We are so excited to be a part of your family’s journey. Your feedback, direction, and experiences are the stars we navigate by. For that, we are grateful.
We are grateful for the service of Donna Guinta, our COO, who is retiring at the end of the year. Her guidance and friendship have been invaluable. We look forward to her continued mentorship and coaching; and are appreciative that she is only a “phone call away.”
I love the holidays. I love the opportunity to slow down and express gratitude, giving thanks. This has been a year of enormous stress for many of you personally and, of course, geopolitically. Our confidence in the wisdom of the ancients is unshaken. We know that if we keep a firm hand on the rudder, are disciplined as your crew and navigate based on your stars, our journey together will be joyful.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve. God Bless and know that you are loved.
